Palette and materials

The palette is the colortable that is used by a level in Liero. The palette is shown above the level in the main window of PL2edit.

The palette has two parts, the upper part shows the whole palette and the lower part shows a part of it zoomed. By clicking on the upper part you can decided where you want to have a closer look at the palette.

You can select a color by clicking in the lower part of the palette. If you do that, only one color will be selected. However, if you hold down SHIFT and click in the lower part of the palette, all colors between the color you clicked on and the previous selected color is selected. The Palette/materials window always shows which colors are selected in the palette by their indexes. It also has a square which shows the last selected color.

When you have selected color(s) in the palette you can change them or their materials. If you press the 'Change colors' button in the Palette/materials window you can select a new color for all the selected colors.

The material of the color is shown by five checkboxes in the Palette/materials window. If you select a range of colors, some checkboxes will be in an indeterminate state. That is because the range has both colors with and without that material property.

You can change the material properties of the selected colors by simply checking or unchecking the checkboxes in the Palette/materials window.
